2. User Responsibilities & Safety

Hair Removal Devices:

  • Read all instructions before first use.

  • Light-based devices are FDA Class II medical devices requiring 510(k) clearance.

  • Do not use on tattoos, moles, warts, very dark skin, or irritated skin.

  • Patch test required on a small area before full use.

  • Do not use near eyes – protective eyewear recommended.

  • Keep away from children.

  • Laser products must comply with 21 CFR 1040.10 radiation safety standards.

  • Follow all included safety warnings.

Beauty Masks (Cosmetics):

  • FDA regulations (21 CFR 701.3) require ingredients listed in descending order of predominance.

  • Patch test before first use to check for allergic reactions.

  • Discontinue use if irritation occurs.

  • Follow usage instructions.

  • Comply with California Prop 65 where applicable.

Mirrors:

  • ASTM F2933 safety standards – all mirrors feature safety backing.

  • Handle with care – glass can break if dropped.

  • For wall-mounted mirrors, ensure proper installation into studs or with appropriate anchors.

  • Keep away from children.

3. FTC Compliance – Beauty Claims (CRITICAL)

  • All advertising must be truthful and not misleading under the FTC Act.

  • Claims about product benefits (e.g., "reduces wrinkles," "hydrates") require substantiation in the form of competent and reliable scientific evidence.

  • "Science-washing" – inaccurately using scientific terms in marketing is a deceptive practice that can result in FTC penalties.

  • Don't use unsubstantiated buzzwords like "all natural" or "detoxifying" without evidence.

  • Don't cite vague studies – represent that a claim has been scientifically or clinically proven only with sufficient evidence.

  • Failure to substantiate claims can lead to regulatory actions and fines.

  • We maintain documentation of all claim substantiation.

4. FDA Compliance

  • Hair removal devices: Class II medical devices (Product Code OHT) under 21 CFR 878.4810, requiring 510(k) premarket notification.

  • Beauty masks: Cosmetics regulated under FD&C Act, must not be adulterated or misbranded.

  • Labeling: All cosmetic products comply with 21 CFR 701 (ingredient declaration, identity statement, net quantity, manufacturer name and address).

  • Radiation safety: Laser products comply with 21 CFR 1040.10 and 1040.11.

  • Product registration: Where applicable, products are registered with FDA and bear required compliance markings.
